What is Ready by 21?
Every young person deserves to be Ready by 21 – ready for college, work and life. The Ready by 21 Challenge is a call to action, created by the Forum for Youth Investment, to challenge state and local leaders, from policy makers to volunteers, to improve the return on their investments in children and youth.
Every leader needs support. Especially leaders who are willing to eliminate fragmentation, duplication and complication by inspiring those around them to set and achieve bigger goals through better collaboration. The Ready by 21 approach provides leaders with conceptual and practical tools to start this work and incentives to stay the course.
Who is part of the Ready by 21 effort in NKY?
Initial planning members included the Northern Kentucky Education Council, Strive, United Way of Greater Cincinnati, and Vision 2015 (now Skyward). Ongoing work is housed within the six volunteer action teams of the Northern Kentucky Education Council. The Ready by 21 effort in Northern Kentucky includes the six counties supported by the Northern Kentucky Education Council, including the 18 public school districts and the Diocese of Covington schools.
